Secrets of the Phone Faults.

Sometimes, we find the most precious things in the most uncomfortable situations. Our discomforts often challenge us and inspire growth that we would otherwise never have sought out on our own. Today, follow me as I reveal treasures in some utterly annoying situations.

Augusta’s Android.

Augusta is unable to switch on her WiFi, Bluetooth and hotspot, hence, she is unable to send and receive common apps that she finds useful and interesting. She has to resort to downloading these apps.

Takeaway:

These things that Augusta is unable to activate on her phone are things with which she sends and receives apps and media. As a teenage girl, it is important that she pays close attention to the things she listens to and the things she says. This powerful lesson goes for each and every one of us, too. The things we listen to form notions and condition our minds and we are consciously or unconsciously influenced by them. The things we say and do affect others and shape our relationship with the people around us.

Michael’s Android.

Michael had come to me a few times asking me to transfer some things into his phone. At those times, I usually realised that the Xender app I transferred to him previously was gone. I would give him Xender again and proceed to transfer the things he needed.

Takeaway:

This situation brings to mind the need to constantly forget unpleasant experiences and move on from them as we go on in our lives. Doing this prevents an accumulation of bitterness that can weigh us down. It may seem smart to keep records of the wrongs done to us in order to pay back at the perfect moment, but it is wise and liberating to forgive others and seek their good.

Edward’s Android.

Edward’s phone screen got damaged, leaving some areas insensitive to touch. In other words- useless.
His phone had a feature that could help him minimize his screen. It would contain all the features of the normal screen, only smaller.
I watched him use this phone and sometimes found the tiny screen amusing. He has a better phone now, though.

“The inability to persevere and appreciate what we have, has led many into sad circumstances.”

Takeaway:

Edward’s experience sends a strong message on perseverance and contentment. They say that no condition is permanent and the statement proves itself true every single day. The inability to persevere and appreciate what we have, has led many into sad circumstances.
Life is better enjoyed when we are not constantly fretting over the things we don’t have. We stand a better chance at happiness when we count our blessings- which we soon realise are actually innumerable- and give thanks to God for all His mercies, as well as enlist His help in our quest to achieve our dreams and aspirations.

Abigail’s Android.

Abigail’s phone is a Tecno LC6, Pouvoir 3Air. It is a beautiful phone with a big screen. Abigail’s android is my phone. My phone is Abigail’s android.
I appreciate my phone because it helps in my day to day activities. It’s like an assistant of some sort. In fact, I’m typing this article with it.

Disclaimer: If you must buy this phone, keep in mind that you must buy a memory card. Otherwise…

You see, my phone has 1gb RAM and 16gb ROM and I have been using it without a memory card (I have been very lax about getting that). Minimizing apps is mostly a waste of time because you rarely find it where you left it.
Most importantly, this baby takes her timeeeeee! You’d click on something and wait a few seconds for it to start. She’s a madam like that.😌 This gets annoying for Abigail who likes her things sharp-sharp. Maybe she should just buy her memory card and see what happens.🙄 Abigail’s phone teaches patience.

Takeaway:

Patience is truly a virtue. It’s beautiful when we don’t allow things that are or are not happening when we want them, to steal our peace. Impatience is a tendency present in all of us, which, if obliged, will make us tense and uptight when the calenders we set up in our minds are dismissed. This can be really stressful. It is more blessed to wait. When that person isn’t willing to talk yet, wait. When that six month strike takes place, wait. If someone tells you you will talk about it when you meet on Saturday, don’t fly bike and be in front of her gate that evening.

The lessons derived from the experiences above may not be easy for us to put into practice on our own, but, Jesus is able and more than willing to help our weaknesses. He is greater than our emotions and has the power to give us peace. Our own duty is to commit our affairs into His hands.

Fear Does Bully by Obinna Osoro

Often time comes thought to mind,
Thought to mind that goes to heart,
Propels thought and reason’s course,
Set in motion does good plan work,
But comes to picture does BIG BAD BULL,
Big Bad Bull oh! Comes to bully,
Boldness trembles when fear makes boast,
Courage comes and Pat’s him hard,
First round goes, now comes forth second,
Boldness wins second after fear takes first,
All in all says fear does bully,
But almost never win does fear who bullies.

“The Diplomat” by Obinna Osoro.

THE DIPLOMAT
“Suit and tie wears eloquence,
Knows no style does barbarian,
Shows much pride comes ignorance,
Comes to ruin when pretence faults,
When great minds all think alike,
Thought in heart voices diplomat,
Fool of life won’t you go to school,
Do’s and don’t makes contrast style,
When fools talk oh! who can bear,
Know not ye what Bible says,
Wisest sons bring joy to heart.”

Figures of speech: Antithesis, personification, paradox.

Shining Star

Bright little lone star,
The most punctual one to
Grace the majestic skies,
The early bird gets
The fattest worms,
Maybe you want the fattest worms,
Maybe you scorn mediocrity,
It seems you are not content
With being neither here nor there,
You will not make do with
Whatever you manage to find,
And so, even as the
Fiery light recedes,
You begin to make your way
Through the skies, unencumbered,
Unlimited by halting demands,

Gazing up, I am touched
By your beauty in the sky
And just how bright you shine!

A Wise Decision Make I Now.

Written by Obinna Osoro.

A bumbling move is intending wise,
Brilliant play makes King capture,
People play life ludo… when it is chess,
Good decision results sun smiles simple,
Fool’s decision quickens stupidity’s temple,
A bad choice say you make I,
Ignored advice call it I,
Hell’s angels influence good mistakes,
Society’s outcast becomes national hero,
Hometown Wiseman; just like Solomon,
Less than perfect; be human decisions,
A wise decision make I; once in a lifetime.

Figures of speech: Irony, personification, metonymy, oxymoron, metaphor and alliteration.

No Loitering.

Crippling lethargy, basking in torpor,
Posture screaming apathy, idle to stupor,
Hands tucked cozily into pockets,
Pockets that leak out time.

Empty leisure, haunting rest,
A desired but unexplainable laze,
Lounging on a box of ideas,
Knowing the urgency of work,
Oh, wasted knowledge.

Do you need me to remind you;
Of what you already know?
That even the smallest of effort;
Makes a mark,howbeit,weak?

Snap out of that wakeful slumber,
The vacant slot,fill up,
The hoe or a book?
Why not sew? Maybe cook?
See Time, how awfully she speeds.

Idleness births nothingness,
Make the wheels turn,
For if it is comfort you seek;
there must be NO LOITERING!

The Complement.

Locomotive metal abodes were comforting;
But their breaths stank,
Coupled with the road cavities;
They unsettled my insides.

So I retraced my steps;
Backwards down tar and gravel,
Taking with me a piece of the beaten tracks,
Till I crossed the threshold and felt;
Earth beneath my feet.

Laughing,I built shelter;
Equipped to meet my needs,
Right there in nature’s bossom,
My insides were rejuvenated,
And both realities served me well.

Freeborn Slave.

Labouring sinews stretch taut;
At breaking point,
With painful rhythm;
The axe picks at gloomy soil,
Life is sown,life is seized

And the winds carry the tales,
We shudder and mope
We wonder at the hellishness;
The heart of man can conjure.

Dusk till Dawn,
Despair shakes them to wakefulness,
And it lies with them;
Clinging tightly as a new bride,
As they drift off to lofty dreams,
Of when men were once men.

I tell the story of man on his knees before man,
One,maddened by pain,
That which is caused by striking of flesh;
Forgotten,
And knowledge claws at the heart;
As freeborn turns slave.
